Indigenous Knowledge & Equitable Climate Transitions

The principle of equity has become a central theme in recent IPCC reports, such as the Special Report on 1.5°C. Equity helps frame the impacts and response options to a warming world by evaluating how they will impact the poor and vulnerable, as climate risks are not distributed equally in this world.  Part of supporting equity, is ensuring that traditional knowledge is represented in our understanding and response to a changing planet.

This event will explore how the IPCC scientists integrate equity and indigenous knowledge into climate science.
